Style 1: Long Hair

Important: Secure the CreaClip in her hair with the curve facing upward (like a happy face – which is exactly how your face will look with your new haircut!).

Tools Needed:

  • The patented, innovative CreaClip. If you need to purchase a pair of scissors too, it’s the best price to buy them as a package: CreaClip + Scissors.
  • Has it been a while since you have bought a new Hair Brush? Treat yourself to this eco-friendly bamboo Hair Brush that massages the scalp while detangling. It also comes with a fine tooth comb.
  • Clippers, Beard Trimmer or Scissors
  • This Hand held mirror has large dimensions making it easier to see behind you.

Tip For Success: To make it easier to see that the Creaclip is level when behind you, stand with your back to a wall mounted mirror & hold a handheld mirror.

Tips For Every Time You Use Your CreaClip:

  • Always cut with clean hair.
  • Brush all of the knots out of your hair.
  • Stand or sit upright when you are securing the clip in your hair.
  • Make sure the air bubble is level, centered in the middle, then you can bring the entire clip with your hair secured in it, over your shoulder in front of you.
  • If you have curly hair blow dry or flat iron your hair before cutting. For curly hair remember to add 2″ to length to adjust for shrinkage.
  • If you have thin hair cut straight across to give your hair a fuller look.
  • If you don’t have thin hair one option is to cut in a 45 degree angle to give the hair a nice textured look. This is the angle the professionals at the salon cut at.

Style 2: Extremely Long Hair

Style 3: Cut a Bob

Important: For the bob to meet military regulation the difference in length between the back & the front of the hair cannot exceed 1″. When cutting your hair, if you pinch it less, there will be less of a difference in length & will be more likely to be within regulation.

Note: The smaller, straight across (without a curve) CreaClip is used in this video tutorial.

Bonus Video: How to Cut All Length Layers

Note: Following this tutorial will create layers all the way around your head. If instead you would like layers around your face only, follow the layers video tutorial on this page instead.

IMPORTANT: Layers are NOT within military regulation when:

  • The Bun has loose hair extending at the end.
  • There is loose, unsecured hair even when medium or long length hair is worn up.

Important: Secure the CreaClip in her hair with the curve facing down (like a sad face – which is the opposite of how your face will look with your new cut!).

Tips For Layers:

  • Have the bubble facing toward yourself. If you have fine hair, use the small size CreaClip.
  • The further down you slide the CreaClip the longer the layers (& your hair) will be.
